"My personal and business insurance accounts were moved to Rich Jones from another State Farm agent when they closed their business. I had multiple accounts and wasn't notified of the change or welcomed by Rich Jones' office. I found out when I tried to contact my previous agent. Fast forward about 18 months to Jan 2023, and I receive a call from a debt collector about my business. The claim is that I have a workers comp bill that hasn't been paid. I reached out to Rich Jones' office, thinking that the whole "as a good neighbor" thing might have some authenticity. I told them that I never received any notices about this, and forwarded them an email where I had canceled my workers comp policy in March 2021. They responded with a claim to have left me one voicemail in June 2022 about the bill that went to collections. I asked for copies of the bills and they sent me copies of the notices that I would be sent to collections if I didn't pay, but not the initial bill. They are for a policy dated AFTER the term of the initial policy I had already canceled. So, they renewed my policy after I canceled it. They had also sent them to my previous address. I have email proof of updating my mailing address with State Farm. They still could have saved things from here with an apology and remedy. After a few emails, they are still telling me that I need to deal with the collections agency, and have made no apology to the multiple mess ups on their end. I used to send my clients to State Farm for homeowner's insurance, and never will again. I always make sure to get insurance through someone local so that there is a real person I can deal with. Turns out, they're just like the big guys who don't care about me."
